Glorious Organics Cooperative
The Glorious Organics was conceived during 1985 when Heather
Pritchard and Herb Barbolet, members of Fraser Common Farm Co-operative
in Aldergrove, worked on a Canada Employment grant to "research ways in
which people could supplement their incomes on small landholdings in the
Fraser Valley".
California cuisine was heading north on the heels of the
flower power movement, Expo 86 was just ahead and Chef Hubertus Surm at
Isadora's Co-operative Restaurant on Granville Island believed in our
concept. Of all the ideas surveyed during the grant, a combination of

currently own and operate Glorious Salads. We cultivate about seven of
Fraser Common Farm Co-op's twenty acre holding, using some plastic
shelters to extend our season, keep the edible flowers dry and for
winter protection. However, our eighteen years of experience show that
only field grown crops, challenged by the stress and diversity of
outdoor conditions, develop the full character, robust flavor and long
shelf life that characterize our seasonal pre-cut mixes.
Our goal as "local heroes" is to serve a loyal and
discerning restaurant market with our specialized certified organic
seasonal greens, vegetables, garnishes, herbs and edible flowers. You
can also find us at several of the local farmers markets including Trout
Lake (East Van) at the Langley Organic Growers stall.
We work with other local organic growers like Friesen Farms
and Glen Valley Organic Farm to supplement our product list.
Celebrate Spring, Summer and Fall with us- our salads and garnishes
change with the season.
